Built in 1978 on Krishna river, 13.50 TMC Dhom Dam is very beautiful spot to visit. Hydroelectric Project of 2 Mw. 44 Km from Satara City ( 9 Km from Wai ). Boat Club facility available here, which can be viewed from Table Land of Pachgani. Aqua culture activities are being taken up in this dam
The Krishna River is one of the longest rivers in central-southern India, about 1,300 kilometres (810 mi). It is also referred to as Krishnaveni in its original nomenclature.
It rises at Panchgani, Mahabaleswar in Maharashtra in the west and meets the Bay of Bengal at Hamasaladeevi in Andhra Pradesh, on the east coast. It also flows through the state of Karnataka. Some dams like Dhom Dam are constructed on this river.
